Hello bonjour and welcome to CJRO News on CJRO Radio. I'm Candice Vetter reporting from Embrun.

St-Isidore has applied to the Kraft Hockeyville 2025 competition. Kraft Hockeyville offers an opportunity for communities to compete for a grand prize of $250,000 in arena renovations, and the chance to host an NHL® Pre-Season hockey game. Three runner-up communities will also receive $25,000 for arena upgrades. “Hockey is woven into the fabric of St-Isidore’s identity,” said Francis Brière, Mayor of The Nation Municipality, in a media release. “With your support, we can bring home the Kraft Hockeyville title and make sure our arena stays a hub for hockey and community life.” St-Isidore residents must earn points before March 2. Written or video stories earn 10 points each, uploading photos of the arena gives three points per photo, leaving an encouraging note gives one point, and reacting up to 15 times with emojis on others’ submissions are one point each. The top four top finalists will compete in a nationwide voting round. Go to https://hockeyville.kraftheinz.com/community/stisidorerecreationcentre to participate. St. Isidore is preparing for major arena renovations in 2025.

This is the last week to submit feedback on proposed updates to the local Drinking Water Source Protection Plan by South Nation Conservation. This document, developed under the Clean Water Act, outlines strategies to safeguard the source water that supplies municipal drinking water systems. The latest updates have been directed by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks and focus on addressing drinking water threats related to the storage and application of salt, snow, fuel, agriculture, waste, and wastewater storage. The draft version and summary of the proposed policy changes is available at www.yourdrinkingwater.ca/consultations. Residents can provide feedback through online forms or may schedule a meeting with their local Conservation Authority in-person, online, or by phone.
